this is going to be a short post.  i stink at keeping you in the loop of my life, but here are the important facts:
    1. just got back from two weeks in florida.  i like big break.  i'm tan, tired, and cold now.
    2. my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of weeks ago.  she is having surgery tomorrow so i am at home in appleton for a couple of days.
    3. only a month left on campus.  not sure where the semester has gone.  joining staff this summer.  pretty excited about that.
    4. i am now 25 years old.  man that sounds old.
    5. and as my roommate always likes to inform others when updating them on her life, i am not engaged, married, or pregnant.

ok.  i admit it.  again.  i am a dork.

i may despise campaign commercials, but i loved voting today.

i hate conflict and yet i love talking about religion and politics.  does this seem odd to anyone?

    today was a good day.

i wore my favorite sweat pants.

    i got to vote.

i got to sit in a fun coffee shop.

i got to play with a couple of dogs.

i got to eat really yummy chinese food for lunch and mexican food for dinner.

i got to go to bible study and we had a great discussion about philippians.

and now i am drinking tea, watching election results, law & order svu, and the news.

    it was a good day.

guess i should keep up with the times and reply to dawn's post as well.  here we go:

    1. i eat popcorn or ice cream almost every night.

    2. even though i named my cat mr. darcy, persuasion is actually probably my favorite jane austen book.

    3. i have six fake teeth.

    4. other than working with crusade or teaching, i think i would really like to be a photographer.

    5. i think my love of daisies partially stems from the movie "you've got mail"

    6. i'm pretty good at remembering people's names.  sometimes i pretend to forget someone so that i don't seem like a creepy stalker.  (like when i haven't seen them for years and still recognize them)

i get tired of living out of a suitcase.  in the past 3 1/2 weeks i have spent 4 nights in my own bed.  and i get to leave again on wednesday for a couple of nights.  gets old after a while.  but its all been good things that i've been gone for.  Christmas, time with the family, TCX, wedding planning, baby shower, indiana....  but i like being home and sleeping in my own bed with my cat at my feet.

Christmas was good.  i knew i was getting a new camera so i saved it for last, good thing to because i got so distracted after opening it that i totally missed out on my parents opening a few more presents.  someone commented on a jacket my mom was wearing a few days later and she said she had gotten it for Christmas.  i said i didn't remember that and she pointed out that she opened it after i got my camera.  whoops.  i like my camera as evidenced by the number of pictures i took at TCX.

TCX was good.  that is our Christmas conference for Crusade if anyone is confused.  i love having staff friends and getting to see them again.  weird how you can only see someone a few times a year and yet feel so close to them.  i think that is one of the reasons i love being on staff.  it really is a staff family and that is comforting and encouraging in a job that isn't always so easy for me.

i went home again for a few more days to help my brother & his fiancee begin to plan their wedding.  weird having a brother who is old enough to be engaged, but i love his fiancee and it was fun getting to be a part in some of the planning.  of course they aren't getting married until june 27, 2009, so we have a while, but it is still fun.  andrea is pretty funny and my mom and i never get tired of laughing at her and her mom.

headed off to indy for some willman time too.  won two games of settlers.  nothing against my games with holly, but sometimes i forget how enjoyable it can be to play with more than just two people!  :)  laughed a lot, bonded with travis, played with baby lily, and got a cold again.  awesome.

anyways, hard to believe its almost time for the semester to start up again.  break flew by.  i made a list of things to get done for work, but i never seem to even get close to finishing it.  how does that always happen?  honestly.  oh well.  hope you are all doing well.  i'm going to go finish watching hairspray one more time and upload some pictures to facebook for your enjoyment there.
